    Desiknio, manufacturer of premium electric bikes and sister company to Stromer, is pleased to announce two new important players for the brand: Morten Kristiansen as the new managing director and Max-Louis Wolff as the new brand manager.

    Morten Kristiansen, 43, started in mid-November and is responsible for the global brand and business development. Prior to Desiknio, Kristiansen held global leadership positions at United Wheels, Allite Material Science, and Dorel Sports, among others, where he fostered award-winning product development, market expansion, and business growth across Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Asia, and the United States.

    Tomi Viiala, co-CEO at Stromer, on filling this important position, says, “We are delighted to welcome Morten to our team. With his broad experience and cycling knowledge we believe he can continue to implement our growth plans. He has the right background to bring Desiknio to the next level with his experience.”

    Max-Louis Wolff, 30, joined the Stromer team on December 1st as the brand manager for Desiknio. His e-bike marketing journey began at Leon Cycle GmbH. As a marketing specialist, he was responsible for online and print campaigns, along with performance marketing activities. He was additionally tasked with establishing a physical store in Hannover. He was part of the founding team at LEGEND EBIKES GmbH, where, in the position of marketing manager and procurator, he was responsible for all marketing activities, from brand building to performance marketing and market analysis.

    The German bike and sports enthusiast will focus on defining and implementing a comprehensive brand strategy for Desiknio. This includes creating a clear brand differentiation and strengthening the brand image. His personal goal is to elevate Desiknio to the next level and establish a solid position for the brand on the e-bike market. He will be working from the new Desiknio office in Frankfurt, Germany.

    Speed pedelec manufacturer, Stromer has applauded its riders for riding a milestone of 100 million kilometers in 2023, averaging more than 300,000 kilometers per day since January 1st.

    The brand has put the milestone into perspective, by describing it as the equivalent of circumnavigating the Earth around 2,500 times, demonstrating the commitment of its riders to sustainable, electric mobility.                                                                                    

    Stromer states its e-bikes as a powerful and eco-friendly alternative to the car, and with this also posted its riders have managed to save 19,100 tons of CO2 by using its rides.

    Stromer announced this milestone as another testament to its successful 2023, with the Swiss organization looking forward to another year of providing electric bikes to customers through its 140 employees, and distribution in Europe, North America, Asia and Oceania.

The Swiss manufacturer of e-bikes is honored to be a winner of the world’s most renowned design competition.

    Aesthetically pleasing, functional, smart or innovative – every year the Red Dot Jury rewards products with exceptional design quality with the Red Dot Award: Product Design. The Red Dot label is internationally known as one of the most coveted quality seals for good design.     Despite the challenges seen in global supply chains and an evolving workstyle, the speed-pedelec producer has enjoyed continued success.

    Stromer (myStromer AG) proudly reported a 17% growth in sales during 2022. The ST3 with Pinion gear was the most sold model, while the new high-end flagship ST7, the world’s first s-pedelec with electronic shifting Pinion Smart.Shift and Carbon Belt Drive, raised the bar for reach and power. In Benelux, Stromer is a leader in terms of market share (Belgium: 37% with a growth of 3% compared to the previous year; the Netherlands: 49.7% with a growth of 11%).

    Although the year presented challenges to the entire e-bike industry, including difficulties in supply chains and currency fluctuations, Stromer’s market position in Switzerland maintained its standing and the German market recorded double-digit growth.

    Co-CEO Tomi Viiala summarizes: “A 17% growth in 2022 shows that we are on the right track with Stromer and our offering. I believe that the subject of mobility in Europe and North America is still in its infancy and will continue to generate significant growth for the entire industry. We also see this positive trend in our Stromer customers, who drove 30 million km more in the past year than in the COVID year. In total, Stromer s-pedelecs have covered 99 million km in 2022.”

    myStromer’s 2023 Prospects

    In 2023, Stromer is again targeting double-digit growth as the s-pedelec market is projected to continue developing positively. To assist in this goal, additional staff will join the team with a strategic focus on retail support and sales, including a US-focused team.

    To support the expansion of the German s-pedelec market, myStromer, together with the lobby office Politik + Strategie and other manufacturers, is supporting the Allianz Zukunft S-pedelec project. Together with national partners, Stromer will offer innovative financing solutions for companies and individuals. Stromer is the first bicycle brand ever to launch an all-inclusive leasing solution with AMAG in Switzerland, covering all costs for maintenance, insurance, or new tires for the duration of the leasing contract.

    Shifts in leadership structure

    Stromer enters 2023 with a few leadership changes. Tomi Viiala, who previously held both the position of Co-CEO and global leadership of Sales, will fully concentrate on his role as CEO in tandem with Karl Ludwig Kley. The position of Global Sales Director will be filled with immediate effect by Kobe Broos, who has led the Benelux Sales team since 2018 and has been General Manager for Benelux since 2021. Pieter de Greef will become the new General Manager of myStromer B.V., while he continues to exercise his position as Head of Retailer Support. Both Broos and de Greef bring years of experience from the automotive sector.

    With the S-Pedelec ST2 Pinion, the Swiss company myStromer AG is initiating the next evolutionary stage of its model range. The ST2 Pinion has been completely redesigned in 2023 and, with a customizable riding position and Pinion gearbox, replaces the previous ST2 Belt model.

    The Stromer Speed Pedelec ST2 Pinion represents the next expansion stage of the Stromer model range with Pinion gearbox and was developed to transport commuters comfortably, safely and powerfully. The 6-speed Pinion gearbox uses technology from the automotive sector and offers a reliable shifting performance in every situation with a gear ratio range of 295%. In the Pinion gearbox all gears can be easily and conveniently changed using a twist shifter, both at a standstill and on the move. The shifting system is not under added load from the motor and reacts to every gear change quickly, precisely and free of wear. In combination with the Gates carbon belt drive, the ST2 Pinion is extremely low-maintenance.

    LEVA-EU member Stromer has entered a partnership with Alinghi Red Bull Racing in their preparations for the 37th America’s Cup. Stromer will be providing fast electric bikes, or “Speed Pedelecs”, as well as developing new special editions that will carry the Alinghi Red Bull Racing name.

    Participation in the ‘America’s Cup’, the oldest sporting trophy in the world (1851), requires vision, an innovative spirit, and a certain willingness to take risks. After an absence of ten years, Alinghi has joined forces with Red Bull with the goal of winning the 37th America’s Cup, hosted in Barcelona from August to October 2024. The Swiss company myStromer AG, a leading manufacturer of Speed Pedelecs, is now working to help Alinghi Red Bull Racing achieve this goal as the team’s official supplier of electric bikes. This collaboration is based on a long-term vision and will not only boost the team’s mobility in Barcelona, but everywhere that they go.     At the “Stromer Universe” in Antwerp, where LEVA-EU member Stromer’s latest models were unveiled, myStromer Co-CEO Tomi Viiala rode an ST3 Special Edition in a camouflage wrap together with the sales teams from Stromer B.V. in ‘s-Hertogenbosch (NL).

    Based on the Stromer ST3 with Pinion gearbox and Gates carbon belt introduced last year, the Special Edition comes in a special Ipanema Brown finish and is equipped with the 983 Wh battery and the Kinekt suspension seatpost (optionally also with a suspension fork and front ABS).

    The Stromer ST3 Pinion is an extremely dynamic Speed Pedelec. The 9-speed Pinion gearbox uses technology from the automotive sector and offers a reliable shifting performance with a gear ratio range of 568%. In the Pinion gearbox, all gears can be easily and conveniently changed using a twist shifter, both at a standstill and on the move. The shifting system is not under added load from the motor and reacts to every gear change quickly, precisely and free of wear. In combination with the silent Gates carbon belt drive, the ST3 Pinion is extremely low-maintenance.

    Clean design

    All components – the gearbox, the easy-to-use shifting system, and even the belt drive – are cleanly integrated into the clear Stromer frame design. The 820 W rear-wheel motor quietly and dynamically provides assistance up to 45 km/h, and the ST3 Edition’s 983 Wh battery allows up to 180 km of range.

    Cutting-edge communication between bike and rider

    Like all Stromer models, the ST3 Special Edition is also fully connected. Connected via the cellular network and the free Stromer OMNI connect app, the bike has GPS localization and Smartlock: when being pushed in locked mode, the motor is blocked, the alarm (horn & flashing headlight) and GPS localization are activated, and the owner is notified by text message or email. Automatic locking and unlocking from a certain distance are performed via Bluetooth, if so desired. New functions such as the service reminder or crash alert messaging supplement the range of features in the user-friendly OMNI app. The app also enables the adjustment of motor settings to suit the rider, upload of the ride statistics, changes to the profile, and much more.

    Optional ABS – added safety

    With the new Stromer ST3 Special Edition, you commute not only with maximum riding dynamics but also in safety. In addition to large-volume tires and a high-quality light system, the model is optionally available from the factory with fully integrated ABS. ABS drastically reduces the risk of the front wheel locking and the rear wheel lifting off the ground and guarantees a safe and pleasant ride on the daily commute to work. Also available with the suspension fork option and with multiple stem and handlebar variants.

    Stromer Universe Lucerne and Antwerp

    Stromer once again focuses on its proven in-house exhibition in 2022 in order to present all its new products at one time in a special atmosphere. In the “Viscose Eventhalle” in Emmenbrücke/Lucerne and in “Felix Pakhuis” in Antwerp, trading partners and invited guests had the opportunity to talk to the management, market managers, product managers, and marketing team of Stromer and to take a test ride of the new models in urban traffic. The focus was shared between the new flagship ST7 with Pinion gearbox and electronic Pinion Smart.Shift system, the ST3 Special Edition in Ipanema Brown, and the 25 km/h model from Desiknio, Stromer’s new brand. The guests in Antwerp were also able to enjoy two evening events with shows.

    #HereToChangeMobility event

    For the first time, Stromer organized the side event #HereToChangeMobility on the third day of the Stromer Universe in Antwerp. The event was dedicated to current mobility trends, the health of employees, and mobility solutions for the future. The event was targeted toward leading mobility managers who are aware of sustainability, who are looking for inspiration, and who wish to create added value for their mobility policies. At the heart of the presentation was a panel discussion moderated by sports journalist Ruben Van Gucht (VRT) on the topic of mobility, featuring Koen Kennis (Alderman of Mobility), Brecht Mangelschots (Sr. Reward Consultant SD Worx), Jean-Marc Ponteville (Press & PR D’Ieteren) and Tomi Viiala (Co-CEO myStromer AG).

    Both the Stromer Universe and the #HereToChangeMobility event were a resounding success among international partners and key accounts. In addition, a number of interested end customers also made good use of the opportunity to test the new Stromer models on-site on public days.

The ST7 is the new mobility solution for long-distance commuters: With the 1,440 Wh battery, a range of up to 260 km and the electronic Pinion Smart.Shift system, LEVA-EU member Stromer’s latest flagship is setting new standards in the Speed Pedelec market. 

    The Stromer ST7 is the first Speed Pedelec in the world with the new Smart.Shift technology from Pinion.

    Pinion Smart.Shift brings automotive riding dynamics to the e-bike. It combines reliable and virtually maintenance-free gear shifting technology with the advantages of electronic shifting via a shift lever. Shifting at the press of a button – fast, ergonomic and intuitive. The system shifts while riding, at a standstill and under load! It also has other smart functions: The start gear can be selected individually and, thanks to the integrated shifting indicator in the e-bike display, the selected gear is shown while riding.     Low-maintenance drive combination and extra thrust

    The ST7 is particularly durable and low-maintenance thanks to the 12-gear C1.12 Pinion Smart.Shift drive with robust Gates carbon belt. Stromer‘s new rear-wheel motor (940 W / 52 Nm) not only provides powerful, dynamic and quiet assistance up to 45 km/h, the Sport mode also serves up an extra portion of thrust.

    High-end components – for an incomparable riding experience, range and safety while commuting

    The ST7 combines cutting-edge technology and high-end components to create a premium quality Speed Pedelec in the unmistakable integrated Stromer design. ABS from Blubrake seamlessly integrated into the frame, large-volume Pirelli Angel ST Sport tires, powerful 4-piston brakes from TRP and a high-quality Supernova light system with daytime running light, high beam and brake light offer the greatest possible safety in daily commuter traffic.

    The new BQ1440 battery (48 V/1,440 Wh), Stromer’s most powerful to date, allows long-distance commuters to achieve a range of up to 260 km. The battery can be easily inserted and removed in an instant and, like all Stromer models, can be charged directly or in the bike. The integrated charge level indicator is new on this battery model.

    As an option for added comfort, for example on rougher roads, the ST7 is also available with the upside-down suspension fork from Wren developed specifically for Stromer and/or with a suspension seatpost from Kinekt. With the free OMNI app, the ST7 also has full connectivity via cellular technology with over-the-air updates and smart extras like GPS localization, triple anti-theft protection, service reminder, crash alert, individual motor settings, statistics and more.

    The new power pack is available with a sports frame in three sizes (M, L and XL) from fall 2022 in the Launch Edition color Solid Gold as well as from January 2023 in Dark Platinum.
