Following the adoption of the Directive on the deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure, the European Commission has launched the Sustainable Transport Forum (STF).

The STF is expected to help the Commission to advance the application of the Clean Power for Transport strategy and to facilitate the implementation of the Directive. The STF shall assist the Commission in implementing the Union’s activities and programmes aimed at fostering the deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure to contribute to the European Union energy and climate goals.

The STF brings together Member States and 32 alternative fuels industry stakeholders. One of these stakeholders is AVERE, the European Electromobility Association.

The STF will enable a structured dialogue, exchange of best practices and coordination, thus providing the opportunity to discuss practical issues that could be encountered during the implementation process of the Directive.

The first meeting of the Sustainable Transport Forum has taken place end of June.
