Since the 1st January 2018, the homologation of unsold speed pedelecs type-approved according to Directive 2002/24 will become invalid. As a result, these vehicles may no longer be sold, unless they are/have been registered for end-of-series in the member state where they are meant to be sold. This procedure may be applied for a maximum of 100 vehicles or 10% of the number of speed pedelecs your company has sold in 2016 and 2017 in that member state. You are entitled to make use of the highest number, whichever that is.

The end-of-series vehicles must be registered with the competent authority of the member state. Upon registration, you are entitled to sell the 2002/24 type-approved speed pedelecs until 31st December 2019.

LEVA-EU can help you understand these rules and how they apply to your 2002 type-approved speed pedelecs. Contact Annick Roetynck, LEVA-EU Manager, email leva-eu@telenet.be, tel. +32 9 233 60 05 or go to this and this webpage to find out what else LEVA-EU has to offer.
