Registrations of electric motorcyles and mopeds increased in 2017 in the EU

The European electric motorcycle market grew from 3,496 units in 2016 to 4,121 units in 2017 (+20.4%). However, it remains at niche levels. Only 0.45% of all motorcycles registered in Europe in 2017 were electric.

Registrations of electric mopeds in the EU increased substantially from 11,342 units in 2016 to 27,029 units in 2017 (+38.3%).

The electric quadricycle market went down from 7,167 units in 2016 to 3,242 in 2017 (-54.7%).
