The function

Because our current Operations Manager is going to follow his dream and move abroad, we are looking for a new colleague to replace him. Our production department makes the frames and bicycle parts for our own bicycles. Van Raam originally started as a frame construction company and to this day our production department is the knowledge center for the (further) development of bicycle frames and bicycle parts. Just like in the rest of our company, we produce bicycle frames and parts using the latest techniques. Consider, for example, robotized welding, tube processing with the 3D laser cutting machine, quality control via the ATOS 3D scanner.

What we do at Van Raam we do together. So the way we are organized is in ‘cells’. This means that your responsibility includes not only the operators, welders and warehouse employees, but also production work preparation, engineering, planning and purchasing. In total this is approximately 26 FTEs. Together, through short lines and involving each other, you ensure the construction of the frames and bicycle parts for our own assembly department every day. In this position you are part of the Operational Management team and report to the Director of Operations. You will get started with:

• translating the strategic direction and context into goals, processes and team performance;
• encouraging innovation, collaboration and accountability in production;
• ensure innovation of processes and expertise;
• achieving results through intensive collaboration, taking responsibility and developing the talents and competencies of employees.

• can act as a sounding board for his team and other departments;
• has at least 5 years of work experience in a similar position in an innovative working environment;
• has completed at least a relevant HBO education;
• feels at home in an enterprising and innovative working environment that is continuously changing;
• can translate strategy into concrete actions and plans in a pragmatic way?
