As a Technical Product Owner you own the technical integrity and “product health” of one or more products in our in-market product portfolio. You maintain the product and process definition.

Our Innovation team is a multi-disciplined team with product management, design, mechanical engineering and electronic skills. Closely following innovations in the automotive and motorcycle industry, the product development team makes sure QWIC e-bikes are the best mix of performance and comfort, aesthetics and convenience.

About the job

As QWIC’s Technical Product Owner you own the technical integrity and “product health” of one or more products of our in-market product portfolio. You maintain the product and process definition.

You will work closely with our Product Management, Technical Service and Production team to monitor and review the performance of the in-market portfolio. You will focus on Quality, cost, functionality and identify improvement opportunities in all technical disciplines.

Further more you will:

• Act as a technical knowledge expert, lead root cause analysis of in market product issues and find solutions;
• Support in setting the technical product roadmap and lead the implementation of product and production improvements for our product line to ensure product quality and functionality;
• Lead and/or contribute to cost down programs to ensure product margin improvements and support SKU reduction initiatives. You will engineer service solutions;
• Set up and maintain quality standards and work with suppliers to find high quality and cost-effective improvements;
• Be responsible to ensure the products/solutions comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards;
• Gather, maintain and upgrade all technical information (e.g. wire diagrams, BOM’s, …) for your products;
• Develop & engineer product improvements/upgrades/new releases in cooperation with product management and support the new product development with your technical expertise and experience with in-market product issues;
• Closely collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to respond to product non-compliances and create corrective action plans.

What do you bring to the table

Because our company is growing fast you need to be flexible and able to easily switch between different tasks. You are creative, result oriented and solution minded. You have excellent communication skills and able to work with different departments.

Furthermore you:

• Have 5-10 years of experience in the bike, automotive or a similar field;
• Have a Bachelor or Master degree in mechanical or industrial design engineering;
• Have experience with product data and change management systems;
• Have experience with design for assembly and manufacturing, root cause analysis;
• Have experience with design for service, design for quality and design for circularity;
• Have experience with engineering for mass production;
• Are fluent in English, Dutch is a pre;
• Are fully proficient in 3D CAD software (preferably Solidworks), experience in surface modeling is nice to have;
• Have good knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes that help you work efficiently with factories through the development process.
