We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer who can take full ownership of our data infrastructure and can lead us into a stable data-driven and Machine Learning ready future.

So what will be your roles and responsibilities? As our Senior Data Engineer, you’ll join a cross-functional central data team consisting of Data Engineers, QA Engineers, Analysts and Data Scientists. This team is responsible for building and maintaining our ELT & ETL pipelines, so our ideal candidate will have to be well versed in data integration methods. As well as maintaining and building these pipelines, you’ll also be responsible for managing the data analytics platform, activating data as well as opitimizing critical business processes through automation.

In order to keep up with our growth, you’ll work with the latest, state-of-the-art technologies to collect, aggregate and document data from a multitude of operational systems. When rewriting the rulebook when it comes to e-bikes, this comes with eureka moments as well as its fair share of challenges – we plan to tackle this by focusing on innovation, improvement and standardization. What you’ll do:

• You’ll manage the ETL and ELT pipelines from operational systems to our data warehouse using Apache Airflow and cloud services.
• You’ll be in charge of automating and optimizing busines processes.
• You’ll build streaming data pipelines leveraging Apache Beam and cloud services.
• You’ll lead the Machine Learning architecture roadmap.
• You’ll be central in satandardizing infrastructure and data engineering processes.
• You’ll be key in improving our set of in-house Airflow Operations.
• You’ll manage a small team made up of our Data Engineer and QA Engineer.
• You’ll work on our cloud data framework with Terraform.
• You’ll improve and grow our data catalogue.
  

What you’ll bring:

• You’ll have at least four years of experience in a Data Engineer role or similar.
• You’re fluent in Python and SQL.
• You can problem-solve complex obstacles and find simple solutions.
• You’re proficient in Airflow or a similar job scheduling software.
• You have experience with cloud data warehouses, preferably BigQuery.
• You have a can-do, give-me-a-problem-and-I’ll-solve-it attitude and be excited to work in a fast-paced start-up environment with a focus on rapid scaling and process improvement.
  

Extremely nice to have:

• You have had previous experience with Apache Beam or similar parallel processing framework.
• You’re knowledgeable when it comes to data catalogue implementations
• You have previous managerial experience when leading a data-driven team.
