At Dott, our Data Engineering team is responsible for maintaining and continuously growing our data infrastructure and data platform. D ott is a data-driven company, where our robust data warehouse plays a pivotal role in driving insights and facilitating informed decisions across all areas of our organisation . The team works with an advanced tech stack (primarily on Google Cloud including BigQuery, Airflow, Cloud Run, PubSub), solid processes and high quality documentation to deliver reliable and scalable data products. Each data engineer is given high autonomy in making the right tech choices for their projects while maintaining a very collaborative and helpful way of working as a team (the team currently works in Scrum). The team is known for its positive team culture, each team member respects and values the others as individuals and professionals!

As a Senior Data Engineer you will contribute to the team strategy and work on crucial data infra tools that enable our business to scale further and have a positive impact on the environment. You will work closely with Data Analysts, Data Scientists and Engineers as well as directly with business stakeholders such as User Support and Marketing.

What You’ll Do

• Define, build and maintain data products & infrastructure
• Create data models for business analytics and data science use cases
• Collaborate with stakeholders from the business, product & engineering teams to promote data-driven culture
• Continuously strive for improvements in the data infrastructure
• Support in creating & maintaining interactive dashboards and self-service analytics tools
• Build a deep understanding of the way people move through cities and create systems that will help them move faster

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years of experience in the field of data engineering
• Advanced problem-solving skills and analytical mindset
• Experience developing ETL pipelines, both in batch and realtime
• Full proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Terraform (preferred) & Ansible
• Experience with developing Airflow DAGs
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker & Kubernetes
• Good understanding of different types of databases and their use cases.
• Experience in developing Apache Beam pipelines is highly desirable
• Experience with Cloud providers & technologies such as Google Cloud, BigQuery and dbt is preferred
• Demonstrate the communication skills needed to work in a collaborative environment
• Ability to learn and adapt to dynamic situations
