Role Purpose:

Freeflow Technologies is an exciting e-bike, new technology business developing a mid drive e-bike solution. The company is pre revenue but is moving from development of the product to commercialisation. As the company moves into the launch and revenue phase it is looking for an ambitious Supply Chain manager to come and work alongside the current consultant in setting up and managing the supply chain and logistics of the business, with the aim of taking whole ownership of this area of the business once embedded in the team.

The business has already started tooling with a number of overseas and UK suppliers and the role will be to manage these relationships; find new supply channels if required; work with the commercial and production team on production planning to maintain supply and manage logistics and shipping from FOB through to landed goods into warehouse in Scotland.

Required Qualifications:

Degree or Foundation degree in logistics, supply chain management

Operational Duties:

Manage the end to end supply chain, establishing good relationships with UK and overseas suppliers to ensure smooth supply of all components.

Production planning to ensure continuity of supply, working  closely with the commercial and technical team to forecast and plan orders; have an awareness of any supply chain issues that could impact on availability or cost of components and keep the team aware of these risks.

Own and develop the Procurement & Supply Chain strategy for the company with a focus on value for money; quality and continuity of supply.

Knowledge of logistics; duty and best routes to minimise logistic costs.

Ensure accurate stock records are maintained so orders are placed on a timely basis.

Owning and validating all procurement saving initiatives by proactively working with the Finance team to ensure Procurement savings figures are accurately tracked, measured and validated.

Work collaboratively with internal departments to maintain positive and open relationships.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders and the senior leadership team on all matters relating to Procurement activity and strategy.

Development plans to address supplier under-performance where contractual breaches have occurred.

Travel overseas will be required from time to time.

Since FreeFlow is a start-up, its important the successful candidate is agile and flexible enough to work in a small team but also to grow with the business as it develops.  The role will require a high level of responsibility and accountability so the successful candidate should be someone who is willing to take responsibility for their actions and department and meet deadlines/budgets, while communicating problems well if they do occur.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a Procurement role, ideally in the bicycle industry space and a demonstrable track-record of delivering against savings targets within complex multi-stakeholder environments. You will work well in a team and should have experience supporting colleagues and junior members of a team.
