Founded in 2017, Laka set out to transform insurance by connecting passionate cyclists to form a collective and protect their bikes for when things go wrong – a better model for insurance was born. For once people come first in insurance by fairly sharing the cost amongst each other. We exist to rewrite the rules of insurance so it’s something people stand with, not against.
Our model: Laka makes sure everything runs smoothly for The Collective – from exceptionally fast claims, splitting the cost fairly, guaranteeing a maximum price and all the other heavy lifting of a regulated insurance business. For that service, the collective pays Laka a fee relative to the claims in a month.

Marketing & Sales team at Laka
As the Marketing and Sales Executive at Laka, you’ll be part of a mission-driven company revolutionising the insurance industry with fairness and transparency. Our unique collective bicycle insurance model has earned us a reputation for exceptional customer service and high ratings.
In this role, you’ll have a significant impact on our existing marketing efforts in NL and the UK and the expansion into new customer segments and international markets like Germany, France, and Belgium. You’ll collaborate closely with the Marketing Lead EU and Partnerships Manager in the Netherlands, as well as our global Marketing team in the UK.
Your role as our Marketing and Sales Executive will encompass a range of responsibilities across the team. As an integral part of the team, you will be actively involved throughout the entire marketing funnel, from executing campaigns through to email marketing and social media content creation. Additionally, you’ll provide valuable support to the Sales team, nurture partnerships and represent Laka at industry trade shows and events.
What you’ll be getting up to:
- Collaborating closely with the Marketing and Sales team, providing support in the implementation of strategic initiatives, campaign rollouts, analytics, and regional market analysis
- Driving email marketing initiatives, such as our monthly billing email and partnership communications, with a focus on retention and conversion
- Creating engaging content and managing our community across all social media, while also maintaining our presence on LinkedIn
- Working alongside our writers and translators to produce SEO-enhanced content and blog posts, and develop impactful landing pages to boost our online presence and increase conversion
- Researching and managing our trade show strategy and attendance
- Assisting the Sales team by providing marketing materials, aiding in lead acquisition, and supporting partnership activations
Location: we’re happy for this role to be based anywhere in the the Netherlands, with occasional travel to our office in Amsterdam (the team there tend to come into the office a couple of days per week, but we have no set minimum)
👉🏻 This role will be a great fit if you:
- Hold an HBO, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in marketing or a related field
- Have 1-3 years of experience in Marketing roles
- Are fluent in both English and Dutch, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Have experience of social media, content creation, and email marketing
- Have a hands-on approach and an entrepreneurial mindset: you enjoy rolling up your sleeves and taking a proactive approach to getting things done
- Have a love for cycling and are eager to make an impact in the cycling industry
- Can speak an additional language – French or German [or both] is a big plus
