About the job

As the Head of Engineering you’re the one who creates the best e-bikes. You will be building our product team and be a valuable member of the management team, furthermore you will:

• You will be running the engineering side of the R&D department, responsible for leading and building the engineering team;
• You are leading the technical development of high-performance modules for deployment in new products towards mass production;
• Closely collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to translate the selected concepts and product requirements (functional, quality, cost) into detail engineering;
• Collaborate with Product Management and the Technical service team to monitor and review the performance of the in-market portfolio on the dimensions of quality, cost and functionality, and identify improvement opportunities in all technical disciplines;
• Set up and maintain quality standards, take charge of engineering change management and make sure new product development will go through all the phases of the QWIC NPD stage gate process;
• Build a winning team with a creative and positive spirit, and a can-do mentality. Grow technical capabilities within the team, making sure team members are always well informed and educated about relevant technology developments in the bike sector and in the wider fields of electric vehicles, urban commuting and IOT.
• Take charge of setting up and maintaining all Finished Goods and Parts technical data in QWIC’s product development department.

Who are you

You are the center of our product and will be steering the company into the new era of mobility. In this challenging market, we’re looking for someone who can create, engineer and manage this next phase

Furthermore you:

• Are located in the Netherlands;
• Have a Master education with proven hands-on engineering background (for instance you build your own motorbike), or you have a Bachelor with proven theoretical thinking;
• 8+ years of experience in a similar role;
• Proven track record of working with complex technical products (bikes, motorbikes for instance);
• You love to build and manage teams and have a perfect understanding of complex technical engineering;
• You are an enthusiastic and energetic leader who inspires others and are willing to help the team develop;
• Fluent in English, Dutch is a pre.
