Activities

As QWIC engineering lead you oversee the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all hardware, mechanical and electrical engineering across QWIC’s product portfolio.

You build and lead a winning engineering team to deliver smart solutions for our current and future QWIC products, in line with QWIC’s technology and product roadmap.

In addition, you are in charge of the quality performance of all QWIC’s products in the market, establishing best in industry practices in sustaining engineering, continuous improvement program (CIP), engineering change management and issue management.

More concrete you will:

  • Develop and execute the product development and continuous improvement roadmaps;
  • Lead the technical development of new products towards mass production. Closely collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to translate the selected concepts and product requirements (functional, quality, cost) into detail engineering;
  • Collaborate with Product Management and the Technical service team to monitor and review the performance of the in-market portfolio on the dimensions of quality, cost and functionality, and identify improvement opportunities in all technical disciplines
  • Set up and maintain quality standards, take charge of engineering change management and be in charge of technical master data
  • Build a winning engineering team: define what and who is needed to execute the roadmap and daily manage the team;
  • Act as knowledge expert and assist in root cause analysis of in market product issues and assist to find solutions;
  • Set up and improve product development processes, develop KPI’s and reports.

Who are you?

Because our company is growing fast you need to be flexible and able to easily switch between different tasks and projects. You can oversee the cohesion between a diversity of developments. You are analytical with eye for detail, creative and ambitious. You have a problem-solving mindset and focused on continuous improvement and quality. You’re a good communicator and able to look over the boarders of the product department. You can convince and are the go-to-person regarding technical challenges that need to be solved.

Furthermore:

  • You have graduated a Bachelors- or master’s degree in Mechanical or electrical engineering, product design engineering or similar field with a minimum 10 years of experience in engineering or product development;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with leading a technical team;
  • You have good knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes that help you work efficiently with factories through the development process (knowledge of metal stamping, die-casting, forging, plastic part development and/or electronics is a pre);
  • You have experience with stage gate processes, including parts validation (PPAP), prototyping, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Service DFS), Design for Quality (DFQ), Design for Sustainability (DFU), testing and validation, technical documentation, product quality control criteria setting, Design Validation, Engineering Validation and Production Validation.
  • You are enthusiastic about mobility, cycling, innovation and durability (bicycle knowledge is a pre);
  • Willing to travel quite a lot.
