As Financial Accountant you are part of a dynamic team that manages the daily finance operations for multiple entities. Your responsibilities vary from timely registration of transactions to engaging in cross functional projects and delivery of vital financial data to the leadership team. You will perform these activities, amongst others, for countries that are assigned to you. Italy, Belgium or France for instance. Sounds fun, right? Next to independent processing of financial transactions you will review and analyze financial data processed and delivered by specialist colleagues. As we have just started to conquer Europe, procedures and policies are subject to changes and improvements. When you identify inefficiencies or issues we encourage you to think of improvements and implement them with the help of the team. All coming together you will have a key-role in the further growth of Dott!

What You’ll Do

  • Perform month- and year-end closing procedures for your assigned countries (accruals, Intercompany, asset management, payroll etc)
  • Collaborating closely with your regional counterparts to ensure accuracy of financials
  • Perform periodic reconciliations of the balance sheet to ensure integrity of financials.
  • Engage in cross functional improvement projects
  • Support in yearly audit-cycleIdentify and implement controls, processes and systems improvements
  • Interact with specialists with respect to periodic VAT-returns
  • Continuous focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
  • Work with FP&A, Tax, and Treasury to ensure overall coordination of finance related tasks

What You’ll Need

  • A minimum of 2 years post qualification experience as an accountant with at least one multinational corporation, a start-up or scale-up
  • A postgraduate accounting qualification – ACA, ACCA, RC or similar
  • In-depth understanding of accounting standards and best-practices
  • Experience in a fast-paced start-up environment or mature corporate environment
  • Comfortable with process redesign and implementation
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Comfortable in building stable relationships
  • Highly organized with the ability to plan ahead as well as being flexible
