Founded in 2017, Laka set out to transform insurance by connecting passionate cyclists to form a collective and protect their bikes for when things go wrong – a better model for insurance was born. For once people come first in insurance by fairly sharing the cost amongst each other. We exist to rewrite the rules of insurance so it’s something people stand with, not against.

Our model: Laka makes sure everything runs smoothly for The Collective – from exceptionally fast claims, splitting the cost fairly, guaranteeing a maximum price and all the other heavy lifting of a regulated insurance business. For that service, the collective pays Laka a fee relative to the claims in a month.

What have we been up to since then…?

In a nutshell, we’ve been very busy! Here are a few of the massive achievements we’ve had:

🤘🏼 The role

Sales & Account Management at Laka

It probably won’t surprise you to know that we have huge expansion plans over the coming years – our Sales & Account Management team is where a lot of this magic happens!

Underpinned by Laka’s great products and services, the team are at the forefront of our growth – currently with a large focus on the UK, NL and German markets.

You’ll be a key part of our Sales & Account Management team. You’ll spend much of your time building relationships with our Partners, in order to maximise value – not forgetting what Laka is all about – supporting our Partners to help their riders when they need it – with our specially-created commercial products and services.

You’ll also work closely with internal stakeholders to communicate insights, results and recommendations between the Sales and Marketing teams. This is an exciting new role where you’ll have the opportunity to take on the management of key new accounts, as we continue to expand across Europe.

What you’ll be getting up to:

  • Have a primary focus on monetising partner relationships
  • Build, manage and grow partner relationships to ensure we are getting the best value out of them
  • Provide the highest quality of ongoing support to partners, promoting additional services, identifying new sales or marketing opportunities to maximise growth and increase partner retention
  • Be the key point of contact between partners and internal Laka teams for all partnership marketing initiatives and be responsible for maintaining the Laka brand presence across partner platforms
  • Have responsibility for internal revenue targets and lead reviews for partner accounts
  • Be responsible for providing feedback on any issues partners may face and delivering solutions to help them overcome these
  • Support the Sales team to manage the departmental budget by ensuring partner accounts are tracked and organised


👉🏻 This role will be a great fit if you:

  • Have 3-5 years experience of managing partnership accounts
  • Have a proven track record of success – delivering on and exceeding targets, whilst managing multiple partner accounts
  • Understand what it takes to achieve success; working as part of a small but dynamic team within a leading Insurtech business, you’ll roll up your sleeves to achieve the results required
  • Have passion for the mobility industry in general, and are super excited about the future possibilities for Laka within this sector
  • Are able to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of an organisation
  • Are commercially astute, with excellent negotiation skills and the ability to identify opportunities to deliver partner engagement and success
  • Have the ability to assess problems and opportunities to make balanced, sound decisions when needed
  • Speak fluent English and German (with any other European language as an added bonus)

You might have already guessed it but it makes a lot of sense to be passionate about cycling when joining Laka. Don’t worry about any insurance knowledge – we can teach you the ins-and-outs of insurance and support your knowledge on all things bike parts, too if needed.

🌱 Personal development budget – £500 learning budget each year, plus study time if you need it

🍽 Weekly lunch on us – £15 every Wednesday to enjoy lunch on Laka – pop out locally with people in the office, or order-in at home, the choice is yours
