Source: Tweewieler – According to ANP (General Dutch Press Agency), to date around 10,000 speed pedelecs are circulating in the Netherlands. Almost 7 out of 10 speed pedelec owners are between 45 and 65 years old.

The highest rate of speed pedelec owners occurs in the provinces of Utrecht, Overijssel and Zeeland, whilst the provinces of Limburg and Flevoland have the lowest number of fast electric bikes.

Since 1st January this year, speed pedelecs have to be registered as mopeds L1e-B. As a result they are now appearing in the top 10 of moped registration. End of June this year, Stromer was in 5th position.
