The Cabrio for Europe’s Hottest Summer Destinations

The Microlino Spiaggina is the answer to summer ease and driving pleasure. Thanks to its open design on the sides and rear, it provides a refreshing breeze on hot days. A special highlight is the fully removable hardtop, which transforms the Spiaggina into a stylish convertible in just a few simple
    steps.
«The Microlino Spiaggina is an idea we’ve had in mind for years, and it’s finally become a reality. It will be the most stylish vehicle for Europe’s summer destinations like Portofino, St. Tropez, or Ibiza», explains Merlin Ouboter, Microlino Co-Founder.

A possible vision for the Microlino Spiaggina is its use as a rental vehicle in hotels at sunny summer destinations in Europe and soon in the USA. This concept allows guests to book not only a room but also a unique electric vehicle experience. Hotels could offer the Spiaggina as a convenient mobility solution directly on-site, without relying on external car rental services. The vehicle charges easily at any standard household socket, eliminating the need for expensive charging stations. For hotels, this is an attractive opportunity to offer guests an exclusive and eco-friendly service while generating additional revenue.

Retro Design Meets Innovative Electric Mobility

The limited Microlino Spiaggina First Edition is scheduled for launch 2025 with first deliveries in early spring. Interested customers can already secure their spot on the waiting list online. The First Edition will be offered in two exclusive color variants: Portofino Blue, a light blue finish with white design elements, and Sardinia Sage, a matte sage green finish with black accents.

The vehicle features a stylish interior in white-blue or gray-brown made from high-quality vegan leather, especially developed for use on motor and sail yachts to be particularly resistant to moisture. This makes it perfect for coastal drives or a day at the beach.

The Microlino Spiaggina combines the nostalgic charm of classic beach cars with the latest in electric mobility, making it the ideal companion for short trips or everyday use. With its unique design and advanced technology, the Spiaggina offers a harmonious balance of style, sustainability, and innovation. The starting price for the limited First Edition, equipped with a 10.5 kWh battery and premium interior, is EUR 24.990.

A Leader in the L7e Category

The Microlino Spiaggina builds on the proven technology of the classic Microlino, setting new standards in the light electric vehicle category (L7e). Like its standard counterpart, the model is manufactured at the state-of-the-art Microlino factory in Turin, Italy. Equipped with a robust, selfsupporting body made of high-strength steel and aluminum, the Spiaggina guarantees safety and durability. With a range of up to 177 kilometers, a top speed of 90 km/h, and a power output of 12.5 kW, it meets all the requirements of a modern, everyday electric vehicle. With 230 liters of trunk space, the Microlino Spiaggina offers ample room for luggage, shopping or beach gear. Its powerful lithium-ion battery can be easily charged at any standard household socket or charging station.

    Microlino Custom Program

At the Paris Motor Show, Micro is not only unveiling the production version of the Microlino Spiaggina but also giving an exclusive preview of future customization options for customers. In 2024, the «Microlino Custom Program» will be launched, allowing customers to personalize their Microlino. Customers will be able to choose from a wide range of exterior colors for the roof, body, trim line and wheel caps. This flexibility opens thousands of unique combinations, making every Microlino a personal statement.
«With the Microlino Custom Program, we want to leverage our strengths with local production here in Turin and offer our customers maximum design freedom, something that has never been seen in this vehicle category before», says Co-Founder Oliver Ouboter.

  2. Microlino launch in Sweden: The next era of micromobility

    Source: Micro

The launch of the Microlino in Sweden, facilitated by Louwman Sverige AB, marks the beginning of a new era in micromobility, offering a climate-smart and stylish transportation alternative designed for urban living.

    A perfect urban companion

The Microlino, a compact electric vehicle with room for two, achieves a top speed of 90 km/h and boasts an impressive range of up to 228 km. Classified under the EU’s L7e vehicle category as a four-wheeled motorcycle, it offers significant advantages including access to specific bus lanes and exemption from congestion charges. Additionally, it can be driven with a regular B driver’s license, making it highly accessible for urban dwellers.

Meeting the needs of modern cities

As urban areas face challenges like noise, pollution, and congestion, the Microlino is designed to address these issues by providing a silent, climate-smart, and space-efficient mode of transportation. The goal is to improve urban living and make commuting not just bearable, but enjoyable.

A vision for sustainable urban mobility

The Microlino is our contribution to functional sustainability solutions for urban areas, and we are happy to now offer the Microlino to the Swedish market together with Louwman Sverige. Our vision is to replace every second long-distance car in a household with a Microlino, and we are convinced that the need for eco-friendly and weather-protected micromobility will continue to grow in Stockholm and other Swedish cities,” say Merlin and Oliver Ouboter, founders of Microlino AG.

Louwman Sverige AB: Expanding the horizons of individual mobility

Louwman Sverige AB, known for its direct sales approach and tailored customer service, has successfully sold Suzuki passenger cars directly to customers for several years. Now, they introduce the ground breaking Microlino to the Swedish market. “Here, Microlino fits perfectly,” says Sandra Hilton, brand manager at Louwman Sverige AB. “It is light, energy-efficient, has plenty of space for two plus a couple of weekend bags – or the week’s grocery shopping. With a width of just under 1.5 meters and a length of 2.5 meters, you can drive right into any small space and step out directly onto the sidewalk. It’s hard to imagine a smarter city vehicle!

    Launch details

The Swedish sales launch for Microlino is set for June 1, 2024, with prices starting at 269,900 SEK. Orders and test drive bookings can be made at www.microlino.se. Initially, test drives and deliveries will be available in the Stockholm area, with plans to expand to more of Sweden’s major cities over time.

Louwman Sverige AB is located at Vretenvägen 10, 171 54 Solna. Service will be provided by Mechanum Sverige AB in Skarpnäck, a workshop entirely focused on electric vehicles, ensuring top-notch quality and customer satisfaction. Soon, advantageous financing solutions will also be offered through Louwman Sverige’s new partner in vehicle financing, Toyota Kreditbank GmbH, Sweden Branch, with insurance provided by Länsförsäkringar.

  3. From E-Mobility to Combustion: Microlino’s Groundbreaking Transition

Comments Off on From E-Mobility to Combustion: Microlino’s Groundbreaking Transition

In an unexpected twist of events that’s set to shake the foundations of the car industry and perhaps, ignite a spark in the hearts of policymakers across Europe, Microlino has announced a revolutionary change in its production line. Buckling under the pressure of unsupported L7e electric vehicle infrastructure and burgeoning import taxes, the beloved compact EV maker is taking a bold leap – back in time.

From Electric Dreams to Combustion Realities

Yes, you read that right. In a move that’s bound to raise more than a few eyebrows, Microlino is saying goodbye to its electric dreams and embracing the age-old combustion engine. “Given the lack of government support in various European countries and the imposition of import taxes, we’ve been pushed to rethink our strategy,” explains Wim Ouboter, CEO & Founder of Micro. “Moreover, being part of the L7e category, which sadly doesn’t play a role in the CO2 calculations, denies us the benefits that giants like Tesla enjoyed in the past, reaping 700 million from the government annually.”

Innovative Partnership: The New Engine from India

In an exciting development, Microlino announces that the origin of the new combustion engine will be India – a country globally recognized for its expertise in manufacturing high-quality and premium motorcycles. “For our latest step, we have entered into a partnership with one of the leading experts in the motorcycle industry. This collaboration symbolizes our continuous pursuit of innovation and the highest quality, even as we venture into the realm of combustion engines.” With this move, Microlino underscores its commitment to excellence and the willingness to explore unconventional paths to find the best solutions.

A Nostalgic Solution to Modern Problems

The decision, which comes after much deliberation and a hint of desperation, is seen as a pragmatic step back to a time when combustion was king. “It’s simple, really,” continues Ouboter. “If the world doesn’t support our electric ambitions, we’ll save costs where it hurts the most – the battery.”
This drastic shift not only highlights the financial and regulatory challenges faced by electric microcars but also shines a spotlight on the broader issue of electric vehicle support in Europe. “Our move to combustion is a cheeky nod to the political sarcasm that surrounds the L7e vehicle category in most European countries. A lack of support? Fine, we’ll just save the planet the old-fashioned way.”
