The LEVA-EU member has announced the launch of its Sprint series, describing them as the best-handling trikes it has ever made. The range has been innovated for both touring and commuting, with a design that’s compact enough for it to fit into cars, RVs and motorhomes.
The globally renowned trike manufacturer has described the latest 20″ models, Sprint X Pixel and Sprint X Tour, as being compact, folding trikes with natural handling that deliver a lively, sporty, and adventurous riding experience.
Designed to deliver speedy and convenient rides for users with a height of 4ft 6” and over, they adopt a medium-height riding position, with the compact proportions making them a suitable choice for riders looking for a smaller trike that offers high performance with intuitive handling.
More information can be found out about ICE Trikes’ Sprint X Pixel and Sprint X Tour on the ICE Trikes website.
LEVA-EU members CIXI and ICE Trikes were interviewed by Gary Solomon on the Laidback Bike Report webcast, during an episode dedicated to e-assist technology in trikes. The discussion featured CIXI presenting its cutting-edge PERS Technology, alongside ICE Trikes, which has integrated this innovation into its upcoming trike model.
In this episode, Gary Solomon discusses the revolution of electric-assisted trikes and how CIXI’s PERS system is being incorporated into trike models, enabling them to operate efficiently without components including chains, chainrings, chain guards, idler wheels, derailleurs, cassettes, shifters or shifter cables.
Solomon interviews CIXI’s CEO and Co-founder, Pierre Francis, about the PERS system in detail, and about the recumbent trike brands that have included it in their designs. He was also given a tour of CIXI headquarters, which involved an exclusive look at the company’s next model, the Vigoz, a three-wheeled, pedal-electric vehicle that can pedal up to 120 kph.
Recumbent trike brands that are equipping their products with CIXI’s PERS technology also joined Solomon on the episode, including ICE Trikes, a major player in the global market. ICE Trikes’ general manager, Adrian Davies, Marketing Director Phil Zschiesche and Product Designer Euan Crowder gave an exclusive introduction to the CIXI PERS ICE Trike, which will be launched later this year.

The LEVA-EU member has been awarded Bike Brand of the Year 2025 by UK cycling industry publication BikeBiz. This accolade recognises the company’s commitment to innovation, craftsmanship, and making cycling more accessible and inclusive.
Based in Falmouth, Cornwall in England, the recumbent trike manufacturer has become a global leader in the design and manufacture of recumbent trikes, with a reputation for its exceptional engineering and customer care. Each trike is hand-built by a passionate team who take pride in creating products that combine performance, comfort, and style to help more people discover the freedom and joy of cycling.
The Bike Brand of the Year award celebrates brands that have made a significant impact on the UK cycling industry through innovation, quality, and customer engagement.
For ICE Trikes, this recognition is a reflection of years of hard work, dedication, and teamwork.
“This award is a huge shoutout to our incredible ICE Trikes team. Passionate people, building world-class trikes and delivering next-level customer care. Together, we’re helping make trikes a mainstream, inclusive, and accessible cycling choice. We love what we do and being nominated and then winning the “Bike Brand of the Year” is a testament to the hard work from the amazing team here in Falmouth, Cornwall,” the company shared.
Through the years, ICE Trikes has built a loyal community of riders across the globe — from daily commuters and adventure cyclists to those discovering cycling through adaptive mobility. Their focus on inclusivity and quality has helped establish trikes as a mainstream and accessible cycling choice for a wide range of user needs.
The LEVA-EU member has announced that the new partnership with the charity will enable families of disabled and autistic children to access new funding towards the cost of its recumbent trikes in the UK.
Through the initiative, eligible families could receive up to 80% funding toward the cost of an ICE Trike, helping to make cycling more accessible for children who are unable to use a traditional two-wheeled bicycle.
The program aims to give young people the opportunity to experience the freedom, independence, and physical benefits that cycling provides — while encouraging greater social participation and outdoor activity.
“Cycling offers a unique sense of freedom and joy, and for many children with disabilities, an adaptive trike can open up a whole new world of mobility and confidence,” a Caudwell Children spokesperson said. “This partnership helps ensure more families can access equipment that makes that possible.”
ICE Trikes are designed with comfort, stability, and adaptability in mind, making them suitable for riders with a wide range of mobility needs. The collaboration reflects both organisations’ shared commitment to inclusion, wellbeing, and equal opportunities for disabled children.
More information about eligibility and application can be accessed on ICE Trikes’ website.
The LEVA EU member has announced its latest move toward promoting inclusive cycling by collaborating with a national cycle training programme for schoolchildren, teenagers and adults in England.
Set up by the UK government’s Department for Transport in 2007, Bikeability aims to ensure everyone has the confidence to cycle and enjoy it for life. Since then, its practical training programme has trained more than 5 million children. As inclusivity is one of the programme’s key values, Bikeability has highlighted the comfort and accessibility of ICE Trikes as a viable option for anyone who wishes to enjoy cycling as a life skill, whatever their riding ability.
How ICE Trikes embraces inclusivity
The brand has a diverse range of recumbent trike models, along with upcoming handcycles, which are designed to ensure that riders of all ages, abilities, and experience levels have the opportunity to enjoy cycling safely and confidently. The trikes boast adjustable seating, electric-assist motors, and ergonomic designs make these cycles particularly suited for recreational rides, community cycling events, or longer adventures.
More about this partnership can be accessed on Bikeability’s website.
LEVA-EU member ICE Trikes presented a first for the trike industry at Eurobike last week, exhibiting a model equipped with the PERS chainless pedalling system developed by fellow LEVA-EU member CIXI.
ICE Trikes summed up the advantages of the PERS system succinctly: “No chains or gears, regenerative braking, reverse pedalling and truly clean innovative e-assist cycling. It’s the future!” ICE Trikes has been able to incorporate PERS into their designs smoothly, thanks to the open-architecture design which allows it to be integrated with third-party motors and batteries. They teamed up at Eurobike with CIXI to showcase the technology.
The brand had models on show both at their indoor booth, and in the outdoor demo area where visitors could take a test ride. Alongside the PERS-equipped models was ICE Trikes’ Handcycle project.
LEVA-EU member ICE Trikes has announced an improvement to its warranty program, becoming the first company in the recumbent trike sector to offer a fully transferable 10 year extended warranty on all new trike purchases.
This move, which ICE describes as a “first for the trike industry,” reinforces the company’s commitment to product longevity, customer satisfaction, and premium build quality. The warranty will now benefit not only original owners but also second-hand buyers.
Extended protection, even after customer resale
The enhanced policy means that if an owner decides to sell their trike, the remaining term of the 10-year warranty can be transferred to the new owner at no additional cost. The second owner simply needs to re-register the trike with ICE to activate continued coverage.
Commitment to quality and responsibility
Beyond warranty coverage, ICE Trikes continues to distinguish itself through its adherence to international quality, safety, and ethical standards. The company is ISO 9001 certified, ensuring its manufacturing processes meet globally recognized quality benchmarks. All ICE Trikes also carry the CE/UKCA marks, reflecting compliance with essential safety regulations in the UK and Europe.
ICE is also proud to hold B Corp Certification, a designation awarded to companies that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance. “We’re proud to be B-Corp Certified, which means we meet the highest standards for social and environmental impact and you’re supporting a company that puts people and the planet first.” states ICE Trikes, addressing what its certification means for existing and potential customers.
An employee-owned company with a customer-centric approach
Unique among many manufacturers, ICE operates as an employee-owned business, meaning that each team member has a personal stake in the company’s success and the satisfaction of its customers. This model supports a company culture of care, attention to detail, and long-term thinking in both design and customer service.
A shared journey in providing sustainable, high-performance transportation
ICE Trikes positions its products not just as high-performance mobility solutions, but as part of a larger mission to support sustainable, people-centered transportation as it puts quality, community and the environment in the heart of everything it does for its premium recumbent vehicles.
LEVA-EU member ICE Trikes recently joined forces with British Cycling, Plymouth City Council, Connect Plymouth and Plymouth Bike Hire to promote the new Adapted E-Cycle Hub to the general public in the city of Plymouth.
As part of the Connect Plymouth initiative, a council-supported programme aimed at enhancing access to sustainable transportation in Plymouth, UK, the Adapted E-Cycle Hub was launched in 2022 to provide greater accessibility to electric-assist bicycles. The hub, supported by British Cycling, Plymouth Bike Hire, and Plymouth City Council, is designed to create an inclusive environment where individuals with varying mobility needs can trial adapted cycles, such as ICE Trikes’ recumbent electric trikes.
Recently, in March 2025, the Adapted E-Cycle Hub opened a second site in Coypool, Plymouth, to increase accessibility to electric mobility in the region. A key contributor to this project, ICE Trikes recently partnered with local stakeholders in Plymouth’s city centre to promote awareness and educate the public about the benefits of its recumbent trikes and the Adapted E-Cycle Hub’s new location.
LEVA-EU member ICE Trikes completed a busy weekend of exhibiting, engaging with visitors and partaking in panel discussions at the National Cycling Show in Birmingham in March.
The recumbent trike specialists completed a successful weekend exhibiting at the National Cycling Show at the NEC Birmingham, UK, last month, exhibiting their wide range of trikes and speaking to people and organisations about accessible cycling options.
On the ICE Trikes stand was a diverse selection of cycle models, including the record-breaking ICE VTX trike (disabled Marine Corps veteran Michael Ricci recently broke six new World Records riding his VTX through Death Valley in California, USA). Back at the NEC, the legendary British cycling champion Ed Clancy OBE tried the ICE VTX himself.
ICE Trikes closed out the weekend by taking centre stage in a panel discussion on the theme of ‘Wheels of Change’ with charity Wheels for All, alongside fellow LEVA-EU member Van Raam, to discuss the benefits of ICE trikes and how accessible cycling can improve people’s lives.
ICE Trikes wrote in a social media post: “We love to meet people and connect with new cyclists and organisations who for many, have never seen our trikes or knew that trikes were an option for them.”
