Eurobike honours 43 new products in nine categories

A high profile expert jury has honoured 43 ground breaking products and projects with the Eurobike Award, recognizing excellence in the bike and future mobility industry. Of these, twelve received special distinctions. The selection process reviewed nearly 300 entries from 35 countries, evaluating them on design, innovation, manufacturing quality, and value for money. Winners will be celebrated at an awards ceremony on July 3, 2024, and featured in a special exhibition. Notable awards include the ‘Green Award’, the ‘Start-Up Award’, and the ‘Gold Award’.

The Eurobike Award highlights advancements in bicycles, components, accessories, and clothing, significantly contributing to the industry’s development and market positioning. These innovations are crucial in addressing global challenges such as climate change, digitalisation, urbanisation, and demographic shifts, to advance the mobility transition.

Dirk Heidrich, Eurobike project manager at fairnamic GmbH, stated, “This year’s submissions once again show the direction in which the global bicycle and mobility industry is developing. The impressive innovations of the Eurobike Awards represent tangible solutions for accelerating the mobility transition in the field of ecomobility, and furthermore, demonstrate how convincingly the bicycle product excels in various segments,” GmbH has once again cooperated with the German Design Council as an experienced design and brand authority in Germany.

Expert jury honours 43 innovative products

This year, an independent jury awarded 43 innovative products across nine categories, including bicycles, e-bikes, light electric vehicles, components, accessories, clothing, digital solutions, and mobility infrastructure. The jury evaluated submissions based on innovation, functionality, design, manufacturing quality, material choice, and sustainability.

This years submissions demonstrated significant improvements in technical performance and sustainability across various categories. Innovations included socially motivated projects, circular solutions, and functional enhancements of existing systems. The jury emphasized innovation, functionality, ecological and social sustainability, and design in their evaluations.

  • Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jörg Hübler, Chair of Intelligent Machine systems, Mittweida University of Applied Sciences
  • H. David Koßmann, Editor-in-Chief, ‘fahrstil. Das Radkulturmagazin’
  • Maike Larschow, Head of Sales, Rad & Tour Cuxhaven
  • Daniel Rese, Designer and Research Associate at the Offenbach Institute for Mobility Design (OIMD) at the Offenbach University of Art and Design
  • Warren Rossiter, Senior Technical Editor, Bikeradar
  • Sabine Spitz, Olympic Champion, two-time World Champion, four-time European Champion and 20-time German Champion in mountain biking
  • Christian Zanzotti, Designer, Zanzotti Industrial Design
  • Dirk Zedler, Zedler Institut für Fahrradtechnik und -Sicherheit GmbH

The winners will be announced during Eurobike’s award ceremony on July 3, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. in Hall 8 on the Yellow Stage and showcased during the trade fair.
