As Product Design Engineer you are responsible to create and develop product concepts until they are ready for production.

Our Innovation team is a multi-disciplined team with product management, design, mechanical engineering and electronic skills. Closely following innovations in the automotive and motorcycle industry, the product development team makes sure QWIC e-bikes are the best mix of performance and comfort, aesthetics and convenience.

How you will make a difference

As Product Design Engineer you are responsible to create and develop product concepts until they are ready for production.

You have the following tasks:

  • Being the voice of design, communicating design intents and needs within engineering and translating engineering requirements into design possibilities;
  • Communicate new product concepts by sketching, illustrating and rendering;
  • Test and validate concepts by creating prototypes and mock-ups;
  • Investigate new and interesting materials, techniques and suppliers;
  • Ensure a high quality product standard by aligning the design and material selection with the product requirements and manufacturing methods;
  • Execute and deliver production-ready 3D CAD files, including components material specifications, tolerances, and finishes;
  • Perform styling studies and create graphic instruction files;
  • Create user manuals and documentation for the end users.

Who are you?

Because our company is growing fast you need to be flexible and able to easily switch between different tasks. You are creative, result oriented and solution minded. You have excellent communication skills and able to work with different departments.

Furthermore:

  • You have graduated a Bachelors- or Master’s degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical engineering or similar field with 3-5 years of experience;
  • You have good knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes that help you work efficiently with factories through the development process;
  • You are enthusiastic about mobility, cycling, innovation and durability (bicycle knowledge is nice to have);
  • You are fully proficient in 3D CAD software (preferably Solidworks), experience in surface modeling is nice to have;
  • You know your way around a 3D printer;
  • You are experienced in Adobe software (Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign);
  • You have excellent communication skills in English.
