From June 1st, Freebike will cease operations, resulting in Vogue Bike (brand of LEVA-EU member Europe Cycle Company) continuing to sell its stock from its new headquarters in Aalsmeer, the Netherlands.

On behalf of the company, Freebike’s Rob Beset sent the following message to its dealers.

“It is with mixed feelings that we wish to inform you that Freebike has decided to cease operations as of June 1, 2026. This was not an easy choice, but one we made after careful consideration. To ensure that everything continues to run as smoothly as possible, Vogue Bike has taken over the existing stock. It has been discussed with Vogue Bike that they will handle the further processing of orders and deliveries of both bicycles and parts. From an operational perspective, it is currently not possible to deliver orders. Processing of new and pending orders will begin on May 12.”

Coinciding with these developments, Beset will be stepping down from the brand due to health reasons.

Freebike was established in 2018 by Maarten Akkers and Rob Beset as an e-bike concept, based on demand-driven production, enabling customers to configure their own bicycle online or an in-store configurator.

Through the years, it has worked with companies including Ebike Manufaktur and Kreidler.

Recently, the Europe Cycle Company entered a partnership with Freebike, resulting in the company integrating its Vogue Bike booth with Freebike’s at this year’s B2B FESTIVAL.
