The LEVA-EU member attended two events where it showcased its offering and participated in discussions about the future of mobility.
The FAAREN Night of the FAAREN Group took place in Würzburg, Germany, where SOL Motors had the opportunity to discuss current developments in the mobility and automotive industry.
The next day, it participated at the Automotive Business Day 2026, where it was outlined how the industry is developing and the opportunities which new mobility concepts offer.
From the occasions, SOL Motors was pleased with the great interest its Pocket Rockets received. The company was pleased it was able to offer test-riding experiences to show the industry what sustainable, efficient and enjoyable mobility can feel like.
The LEVA-EU member’s leader, Manuel Messmer, recently gave an insight into the development of the Pocket Rocket electric motorcycle to students at the Zukunftswerkstatt 4.0’s Automotive Forum.
The Zukunftswerkstatt 4.0 is a mobility innovation center which comprises of students from the HfWU and the IfA. SOL Motors’ CEO Manuel Messmer gave a presentation about the journey of the Pocket Rocket, from its first draft, to series production, including challenges faced and milestones, such as the company gaining KBA certification.
Messmer, a trained designer, spoke about wanting to design the Pocket Rocket as a lightweight urban vehicle that sits between bicycles and cars.
“I wanted an electric two-wheeler for the city, just hop on and go, that was really all I needed,”
He also spoke about how he wanted to use a more contemporary design than the retro style that has been adopted by other vehicles in the market.
“It’s a new technology , a new form of propulsion, and in my view, that also needs a contemporary design .”
The Pocket Rocket
The Pocket Rocket is a light electric motorcycle, with a minimalist, industrial design that adopts less weight but more range for everyday urban use.
Including the battery, it weighs 87 kg, and is equipped with a maintenance-free direct-drive hub motor. Its 16 kg battery is integrated into the tubing and can be charged on the go, and also can be used as a powerbank. The vehicle also has the unique feature of an inverter which enables battery charging using the user’s own solar panels on a balcony.
The model is available as 45 km/h and 85 km/h versions, with a range of up to 108 WLTP kilometres.
Where to buy the Pocket Rocket
SOL Motors is using a multi-channel sales approach, with online sales and is actively seeking for dealer partnerships.
“We clearly want to work with retailers and are currently expanding our dealer network in Germany.” says Messmer.
It has signed partners in Germany, with a dealer margin ranging from €500 to €1,200, depending on the model.
Messmer explained that he is also exploring partnerships with car dealers, with the Pocket Rocket complementing the showroom, as a lightweight urban mobility option with low maintenance and operating costs, and minimal wear and tear.
Spare parts, technical support and training are under constant development currently.
SOL Motors using leasing as a sales and marketing opportunity
Messmer recognises leasing, which is used in company bike schemes, as a key lever, with partnerships with Mercator and Kazenmaier to support this. Other opportunities Messmer is considering include fleet applications (for factory transport or employee mobility). Another avenue they can be used for is for advertising, with the option for corporate designs to be used on the vehicles.
When describing the Pocket Rocket’s biggest fans, Messemer said they were in California, USA, with its striking design being well-received there since it was created.
The LEVA-EU member was invited by the German Ministry of Transport Baden-Württemberg to exhibit together at the event, which looks at mobility solutions for the future, at the Messe Stuttgart in Germany.
The electric motorcycle company summarised that it experienced a successful event, with many interesting conversations and test rides of its innovative Pocket Rocket.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Transport Baden-Württemberg, its booth demonstrated the mobility of tomorrow to the attendees, who were impressed with the eye-catching design of the Pocket Rocket.
The brand looks forward to attending the next iMobility event next year.
The LEVA-EU member is providing its innovative e-mopeds for the DiEMS project, working with ANSMANN AG, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), the Fraunhofer ICT and EnQS GmbH to develop a fully connected battery management system (BMS) for optimising electric vehicle energy management.
The DiEMS project is being supported by the German Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV) with funding of 2 million euros, as part of the mFUND innovation initiative, which facilitates data-driven R&D projects for improving digital and connected mobility of the future.
It will last until January 2029, as it aims to innovate a fully connected battery management system for optimising range predictions and maximising battery life.
SOL Motors stated that components, from charge level to range estimated, are in simulation and test bench testing scenarios before being combined to create an overall system. Then the system will be integrated into its mopeds for testing under real life-conditions.
Smart battery and energy management systems with AI
At the beginning, comprehensive data for educating AI-based battery models will be compiled at KIT and ANSMANN test benches, at their respective locations in Karlsruhe and Assamstadt in Germany.
Battery producer ANSMANN will develop the battery management system, which will be integrated with KIT’s estimation software.
The intelligent BMS energy management system application
The DiEMS project will use vehicle models from Fraunhofer ICT, alongside route planning, with other data, including weather forecasts, to help formulate precise range predictions. EnQS has responsibility for the software’s architecture, an ergonomic user-friendly interface, and integration with various components.
EnQS has stated that the DiEMS project will help to optimise its battery control expertise for software development beyond the project for home energy management systems, such as extending the lifespan of energy storage systems with the ability to adjust charging and discharging power by state of charge (SOC) and state of health (SOH).

LEVA-EU member SOL Motors recently exhibited its sustainable transportation offering at the forward-thinking urban mobility event Micromobility Europe.
Micromobility Europe 2025 took place on June 17-18 in Berlin, Germany, and SOL Motors was there presenting its latest innovations at the show that showcases the latest developments in global urban mobility.
On its booth, the SOL Motors team was on hand to discuss urban design, technology and the future of clean transportation. A key highlight was SOL Motors’ micro electric vehicle which was on show, and available for test riding opportunities, giving visitors the chance to experience its bold design and performance for city commuting.
The LEVA EU member based in Böblingen, Germany, opened its doors for riders to explore its electric mobility offering.
SOL Motors invited the general public to experience its award-winning electric speed-pedelec bike, the Pocket Rocket, for its official test ride days on 16-17 May. Attendees had the opportunity to explore the design and engineering behind the Pocket Rocket series—known for its minimalist aesthetic, innovative V-frame construction, and high-efficiency rear hub motor that delivers immediate torque for an engaging ride.
Cycling enthusiasts were able to test two variants of the Pocket Rocket:
The Pocket Rocket: A nimble urban e-bike with a top speed of 45 km/h and a range of up to 108 km.
The Pocket Rocket S: A more powerful variant reaching speeds of up to 85 km/h, with a range of up to 68 km.

Recently LEVA-EU member SOL Motors exhibited at the i-Mobility trade show in Stuttgart, Germany, which focuses on intelligent mobility innovations to aid urban planning and transportation for the future. The brand showcased its e-mobility solutions and received a visit from the Minister of Transport from Baden-Württemberg.
At i-Mobility 2025, SOL Motors discussed its sustainable transportation offering with visitors, and also provided test rides for its distinctive Pocket Rocket e-motorcycle, demonstrating its lightweight technology, sleek design and powerful speed.

SOL Motors headquarters and the i-Mobility fair are based in the city of Stuttgart, which is located in Baden-Württemberg, a German state that has implemented a set of ambitious sustainable mobility initiatives. The region’s transport minister, Winfried Hermann visited SOL Motors’ booth to discuss the future of sustainable mobility and how the brand’s innovative solutions can help shape it.
Home to eleven million citizens, the Baden-Württemberg government has implemented its Climate and Mobility Concept as its regional Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP). It includes schemes to improve cycling, electric mobility and public transport, as well as reduce car usage for improved carbon neutrality. Specifically for cycling, the state is aiming for it to be a leading transportation mode, with the target of one in two trips to be made by walking or cycling by 2030.
A successful i-mobility show
