Opmaet Fietsen – a rebrand for Spark Bike

The LEVA-EU member brand formerly known as Spark Bike has undergone a name change to Opmaet Fietsen, in a move that they say will better reflect the comprehensive service they offer for anyone looking for a safe, comfortable and perfectly fitting electric bicycle. Moreover, the new name is more apt for their status as a Dutch company that assembles its bicycles in the Netherlands.

LEVA-EU congratulates Opmaet Fietsen on the successful rebranding and continues to support them in ensuring their voices are heard by both EU and national policymakers.

The co-founders, Olivier Parmentier and Stefan Schuurman, shared insights into the reasoning behind the change of name, and updates on the company’s continued growth. Why a new name?

“We used to be called Spark Bike: a nice name, but it no longer covers it completely. We are not just a bicycle brand, but a specialist in customization. With us, you can put together a bicycle that perfectly matches your wishes and riding comfort, so that you can enjoy every ride to the fullest.

“No standard ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution with us, but a bike that you can put together yourself. From a color that makes you happy, to a handlebar and saddle that feel just right – your bike, your choices. All of that deserves a name that better reflects that. That is why we will continue as Opmaet Fietsen from now on.

“Moreover, a Dutch name fits much better with who we are: a Dutch company that assembles its bicycles in the Netherlands. We consciously choose high-quality, locally produced bicycles and no mass production from China. This not only gives us more control over the quality, but also makes it easier to deliver custom work.”
