Research uncovers different mobility selections by delivery drivers in Paris and Lyon

Private e-bikes are more common in Paris, with them being selected more frequently for deliveries in recent years. In 2022, it was reported they had a marginal share, but now account for 53% of delivery transportation.

The fatbike is more common in Paris (accounting for 17%) in comparison to Lyon (2%).

In Paris, electric mobility is more dominant than Lyon, with decreases in personal mechanical bicycles and motorised two-wheelers. Meanwhile, in Lyon, delivery is more commonly carried out by motorised two-wheelers, which are mostly non-electric.
