The LEVA-EU member has published a detailed timeline for the replacement of WREN front suspension forks that are subject to a voluntary safety recall affecting selected ST3, ST5, and ST7 speed pedelec models.

The news comes after the speed pedelec manufacturer announced the recall on December 5, 2025, after identifying a potential risk related to premature fatigue of the steerer tube.

Stromer has now clarified the next steps, confirming that the first repair kits and spare parts will be delivered to authorized Stromer dealers by the end of February 2026, with full availability targeted by the end of May 2026.

Stromer voluntary recall on specific models with WREN suspension forks

The recall concerns WREN suspension forks that were specifically developed for Stromer and installed on a limited number of ST3, ST5, and ST7 speed pedelec models. A potential risk has been identified with the possibility that the steerer tube may fatigue prematurely, which could lead to cracks, breaks, or complete separation of the component during use, with such failures potentially resulting in falls and injuries to riders.

Although the affected suspension forks had passed all applicable regulatory tests and complied with relevant industry standards at the time of approval, Stromer elected to initiate a voluntary recall as a precautionary measure, emphasising that safety would not be compromised.

Developing a long-term technical solution

Since announcing the recall, Stromer has been working closely with WREN and additional partners to develop a sustainable and long-term solution. This process has included conducting further technical analyses, validating repair solutions, and defining specification adjustments. At the same time preparations have been underway for the production of repair kits and replacement parts to meet required safety and durability standards.

Stromer has indicated that due to the model-specific design of the WREN suspension forks and their limited production capacity, manufacturing and delivery will require additional time.

Spare parts availability timeline

On January 29 and 30, 2026, Stromer proactively informed its dealers, leasing partners, and affected end customers about the current status of spare parts availability and the next steps in the recall process. The company also confirmed that communication with regulatory authorities in the affected markets is ongoing.

Despite production constraints, Stromer has secured an initial delivery of repair kits and spare parts to authorized dealers from the end of February 2026 onwards with the company aiming to ensure that all affected customer bicycles can be repaired by the end of May 2026.

Stromer’s commitment to customer safety

Nesa Meta, Interim CEO of myStromer AG, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to safety, stating:
“The safety of our customers remains our top priority. We thank you for your patience and understanding and are doing everything we can to implement the corrective measure as quickly and reliably as possible.”
