The proposed new international OEM trade show which has been planned by cycling media Nieuwsfiets has reportedly received a good deal of interest from market players, with encouraging reactions during Taipei Cycle.

Nieuwsfiets highlight that CycleExpo is fully focused on OEM business in the cycling sector, and is poised to become a major meeting point for the international bicycle industry. Co-organiser Arnauld Hackmann spoke about the experience in speaking to people during the recent Taipei Cycle event. “The news is starting to sink in increasingly well. It has been picked up by various media outlets, and that was evident at the fair in Taipei. I was spontaneously approached several times by interested industry representatives who wanted to know more about it and showed serious interest.”

Current status of plans

The plan is for CycleExpo to take place in early October 2027, and work is now taking place on creating the floor plan, after which stage registration will open. Hackmann states, “October next year sounds very far away, but it isn’t. Certainly not for us, because we have to decide on a final Go or No Go in the autumn of 2026. So it is crucial to get bookings going as quickly as possible.”

Partnerships and ambassadors

For effective international promotion, NieuwsFiets Media & Events has partnered with trade magazine Bike Europe, as a media partner.

Theo Lawant, of LEVA-EU member OEMBikes, has become an ambassador for CycleExpo. OEMBikes is a supplier of bikes and parts for Europe’s bicycle industry, with an extensive network of OEM suppliers. He will be actively promoting CycleExpo at China Cycle this May.
