The LEVA-EU member Promovec recently participated in a campaign to demonstrate the numerous benefits of commuting to work by bicycle.

The Danish Cyclists’ Federation organises its “We Cycle to Work” campaign every May to inspire more people to use a bike for commuting and daily activities to improve their health while reducing environmental damage. It has been running since 1997 and has reportedly had between 60,000 and 100,000 participants in the previous five years.

Last month, the Danish e-bike brand Promovec took part in the initiative to promote cycling, pitting its staff against each other in a friendly competition. The staff were divided into two teams: Team Tailwind and Team Headwind. The teams were challenged to cycle as much as possible for commuting and leisure purposes.

In just 9 days, both teams had cycled a total of 2,521 km, equating to a further distance than Aarhus to Paris (2,456 km). The latest update from late May recorded a combined total of 7,762 km from both teams, with Team Tailwind in the lead, having cycled the furthest.

Promovec’s participation in the cycling to work campaign was a great opportunity for the brand to educate its community about the many advantages of using this sustainable transportation mode for work and leisure, including the tax deduction that’s available for Danish commuters.
