Following its call for a strategic partner, the LEVA-EU member has announced that it has joined forces with the innovative mobility solutions manufacturer, as it provides a 2026 update on its various offerings. Katanga announces that the partnership brings strong financial backing with additional business, ranging from sourcing and assembly, to R&D.

Katanga believes that the collaboration will elevate the already impressive QuadVelo to a higher level, with improvement to its ergonomics, comfort, quality, speed and cost efficient production.

In January 2025, a new production centre was opened at the CampVelo site near the Austrian border to support growth, with all velomobile production being relocated there.

Katanga has confirmed that its site in Brno, Czechia, will maintain production of the QuadVelo and PONY4, while also operating the company’s main R&D activities.

Alleweder4

An update to the company’s velomobile activities will be the reintroduction of the Alleweder4 building kit, offered previously by fellow LEVA-EU member Alligt. It is now a joint initiative with Alligt, PassionVelomobile, and Katanga, with the latter’s role being to source and collect all the parts, pack them and ship them to customers promptly.

The Alleweder4 is a daily personal transport solution that brings many benefits, as a building kit concept which delivers an affordable entry into velomobile world, enabling users to learn about construction and maintenance through a hands-on approach.

Since it was introduced in 2024, 40 kits have already been delivered.

It is available for shipping within the EU, and other parts of the world, with 2 kits already having been shipped to the USA.

Orders can be addresed to info@katanga.eu.

WAW velomobile

Although the fast-moving velomobile market has experienced some challenges, sales prospects are improving for this model, with the 700th WAW being produced shortly.

With some dealers ceasing operations, new partners have emerged with innovative ideas such as Passion-Velomobile, HoVelo and Northland Velo. They highlight the WAW’s unique features as being highly relevant to the market, and state that the sportive configured WAW is competitively priced and doesn’t weigh significantly more than newer models.

VELION (formerly VM45)

As resources have been secured for a new development phase, R&D for the VELION has been resumed, with the addition of two new team members from BikeToTheFuture who possess strong robotics and electronics expertise.

Once the technical development has been completed, homologation requests can be received.

Katanga highlights that its new drivetrain is impressive, and its regenerative braking is so powerful, that it will rarely need mechanical brakes.

The company will be at SPEZI 2026 from April 25-26 to discuss the work in progress of this product.

A homologated VELION is now expected to be delivered at the end of 2027 by the earliest, however non-homologated versions could be ready earlier.

PONY4

Katanga has announced that sales for PONY4 are anticipated to reach approximately 50 pieces in 2026, and is confident sales will continue to grow in the following years.

It is nearing completion of a semi-trailers R&D project for the PONY4, with many applications being currently in the testing phase ahead of launching in the market, such as a cargo semi-trailer and a camper semi-trailer (which will be offered as a building kit).
The company is also planning to offer individual components for self-builders who are working on their own project.
