What are you going to do? 

As a Design Engineer, you monitor our premium product experience. You ensure that our bicycles are not only practical and user-friendly, but also an eye-catcher on the road. You provide solicited and unsolicited advice in the field of Look and Feel. During the preparation of projects, you draw up Programs of Requirements (PVE), make sketches and work these out in 3D designs. During the execution of projects, you ensure that every detail looks refined, functions well and feels comfortable.  

You work closely with engineers and the purchasing department to go from a sketch to a prototype. In addition, you actively think about the development of new products and options for our users. You regularly interact with Product Management, Marketing, Sales and Aftersales to shape the look and feel of a product.  

Your tasks: 

• You ensure the perfect balance between functionality and design;
• Safeguarding the unique Van Raam cycling experience;
• Choosing the right components for excellent quality experience;
• You ensure that our brand identity is clearly reflected in the product design;
• Creating design sketches for new product ideas;
• Devising updates for existing products;
• Creating product presentations to create internal support;
• Convert sketches to 3D designs;
• Creating illustrations for manuals;
• Testing developments from a customer perspective.

What are you bringing? 

• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience 
• A completed higher professional education, preferably Industrial Product Design or similar  
• A proactive attitude and good collaboration skills 
• Solution-oriented and not afraid to tackle a challenge with both hands 
• Good communication skills and representative appearance 
• Able to switch flexibly in a dynamic environment 
• Experience with design software, preferably Sketchbook and SolidWorks 
• Good command of the English language
