WHO WE ARE

• LEVA-EU, based in Gent (B), is a European trade association for companies in the sector of light, electric vehicles (LEVs): electric (bi)cycles, e-scooters, self-balancing vehicles, electric moped and motorcycles, electric 3 and 4-wheeled vehicles, etc.
• LEVA-EU currently has more than 80 members in and outside the EU. LEVA-EU assists these members with professional and in-depth advice on European and national legislation and rules, which are relevant for their company/products.
• LEVA-EU also works directly with European authorities for European legislation that is better suited for LEVs and for policies that encourage the use of LEVs as sustainable means of transport. LEVA-EU works with the European Commission, European Parliament, European Council as well as in the standardization institutes CEN, ISO and IEC.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

We require you to team up with the LEVA-EU manager in the following activities:

• membership administration
• answering questions from LEVA-EU members on European and national rules and legislation concerning their business/products
• monitoring all relevant European legislative initiatives, legislation and policy relevant for the LEV-sector
• writing briefings for LEVA-EU management on relevant initiatives, legislation and policy
• writing briefings for LEVA-EU members on European rules, legislation and policies relevant for their business
• support in lobby work
• support in data collection
• support in the preparation of meetings
• participation in conferences and networking events
• support in LEVA-EU’s participation in trade shows 

The number of working hours to be determined by mutual arrangement, but will undoubtedly vary from month to month. July and August are traditionally “quiet months”. We are looking for someone who can start straight away.

YOUR PROFILE

• Clear affinity with and interest in sustainable mobility (must), interest in and knowledge of light, electric vehicles (plus)
• Good knowledge of the European institutions and European policy-making procedures (plus)
• Relevant Bachelor/Master degree (must) that preferably includes European law/politics (plus)
• Experience in EU affairs or other relevant working experience (plus)
• Impeccable spoken and written English (must), possibly other languages (plus)
• Detailed and thorough (must)
• Well organized and able to work independently (must)
• Excellent command of Internet, Word, Excel and PowerPoint (must)
• Self-employed and VAT-registered (must)
• Living in Gent area or within a feasible commuting distance of Gent (must)
• Willingness to work (partly) from LEVA-EU office (must)
• Immediately available (must)
