Recumbent cycle specialist and LEVA-EU member ICE Trikes has announced the launch of its highly anticipated electric handcycle, designed to balance comfort, practicality, and versatile use across road, trail, and active cycling.

The Handcycle is available in two electrically assisted models, the Adventure HD Handcycle and the Sprint X Tour Handcycle. Key features include an innovative folding entry system, which allows the entire steering and pedals to fold forward with a simple push of a handle, enabling riders to easily transfer in and out from an alongside wheelchair with no complicated maneuvers.

The Handcycle has also been engineered to easily fold, without tools, for easy transportation, with the Compact Flat Twist fold based around a lightweight heat-treated aluminium hinge on the main frame.

Other highlights include:

  • Small turning radius for increased maneuverability
  • Easy, adjustable pedalling position
  • Ergonomic, easy-to-use controls and riding position
  • Shimano EP801 Cargo Motor and Nexus Inter 5E Di2 Hub Gearing
  • Available with most ICE accessories

The Handcycle has been reviewed by Karen Darke MBE, Paralympic Gold Medallist & Adventurer:

“ICE has created something remarkable with this handcycle. It is intuitive, versatile, and beautifully engineered. Designed for off-road adventure, it’s most at home on trails and paths, where its easy entry, adjustable crank and seat positions, and smooth power assist enable confident riding across terrain that would normally be out of reach. It gives the freedom to explore places in the style you choose.”
