Four of the LEVA-EU member’s employees took part in the established Belgian ‘De 1000 km’ cycling charity event for cancer research, where they managed to raise €5,500 for the charity Kom Op Tegen Kanker.

Bizbike, owner of bicycle brands Beaufort and Veloci, and renowned in the Belgian region of Flanders for its mobile service, raised €5,500 in the ‘De 1000 km’ event, which requires teams of one to eight cyclists to pedal for four days to raise money for cancer research. For this year’s event, approximately 6,500 cyclists took part.

Bizbike’s Nico Cossyns, Head of Sales, who took part in the meaningful event, said the following about the company’s participation:

“Who doesn’t know someone with cancer in their immediate circle? It is a terrible disease, but one that can be overcome if we continue to support cancer research. We have already had a wonderful year so far at Bizbike, with fantastic recognition and results, so we felt it was time to do our bit as well.”

“What surprised me enormously was the infectious enthusiasm within the Bizbike team to roll up their sleeves. Together with three other colleagues – Xander, Davy, and Koen – we covered 1,000 kilometers by bike, which gave the team spirit a tremendous boost. Other colleagues also worked on projects, such as making and selling candles.”

The company announced that it will also participate next year in the ‘De 1000 km’ race, aspiring to raise even more money with more teams, to raise funds for Kom Op Tegen Kanker.
