The LEVA-EU member recently announced its collaboration with Belgian Cycling, the national cycling governing organisation, with its premium e-mobility products supporting off-road cycling disciplines. AMPYRE’s electric scooters will now assist technical staff during course reconnaissance and race preparation, and will be available for testing at select events.

AMPYRE, led by Arnaud Legrand, Bram Van Aken, and Tom Lauwers, specialise in advanced e-mobility solutions designed for performance, sustainability, and innovation. These values align closely with Belgian Cycling’s mission to foster excellence in the sport while embracing modern, eco-conscious technologies.

Under the agreement, AMPYRE will provide its e-step scooters to assist Belgian Cycling’s off-road support teams. These scooters enable staff to efficiently navigate complex and rugged race terrain, saving time and energy while reducing environmental impact. The approach is particularly beneficial in disciplines such as mountain biking, where accessing remote course sections quickly can be essential to race-day operations.

Jeff Luyten, federal coach for the MTB programme, likened the AMPYRE scooters to “having a team car in the forest” by facilitating staff to respond rapidly to technical needs, inspect conditions, and provide direct assistance to athletes in challenging environments.

The partnership goes beyond logistics support, representing a shared vision for the future of cycling. Both organisations emphasise teamwork, innovation, and sustainability, aiming to contribute to a cleaner and more efficient sporting environment. AMPYRE has expressed pride in being part of this mission, describing the collaboration as “more than a sponsorship” and a step towards smarter, faster, and greener mobility for cycling teams.

Last month, Ampyre scooters were first deployed to help at the Belgian Championships MTB XCC and XCO in Tessenderlo, Belgium, with fans and event attendees also having the opportunity to experience the technology firsthand. Belgian Cycling has confirmed that AMPYRE’s e-step will also be available for public testing at select championship events in the future.

With the Belgian Championships MTB XCC and XCO marking the debut of the partnership, both organisations are looking ahead to a dynamic season. By equipping the nation’s off-road teams with cutting-edge mobility solutions, AMPYRE and Belgian Cycling aim to set a new standard for operational efficiency in competitive cycling.

As the sport continues to evolve, the integration of sustainable transport solutions reflects a broader trend across professional athletics in blending high performance with environmental responsibility. For Belgian Cycling, the addition of AMPYRE’s expertise looks promising both on the track and behind the scenes.
