Belgian Electrotechnical Committee
The Belgian Electrotechnical Committee (BEC-CEB) is the neutral and independent Belgian standardization platform for electrical engineering, electronics and related technologies, in short “electrotechnology”.
This domain covers a very broad spectrum of standards from large installations such as a power plant to the smallest electrical components or applications such as electronics woven into clothing. It includes all electrotechnology on land, at sea and in the air and in addition, of course, all associated disciplines such as terminology, definitions and symbols, electromagnetic compatibility, safety, characteristics, quality, environment, energy efficiency and sustainability requirements.
The BEC is recognized:
- Nationally as a Standardization Institute and as a sectoral operator for the field of electrical engineering and electronics.
- In Europe as the Belgian Electrotechnical Committee and as member and Belgian representative of CENELEC (European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization).
- Internationally as the Belgian Electrotechnical Committee and as member and Belgian representative of IEC (International Electrotechnical Committee)
